What is it all about?
We are looking to recruit a full time Construction/Brickwork Tutor/Trainer that can do more than just Teach Their Trade but can also engage and inspire prison-based students that have had little or no prior education. Based on-site at HMP Lincoln, we need someone that believes people are capable of change and deserve a second chance in life. Our Tutors and Trainers work with small groups of prison-based learners to develop their skills and knowledge while supporting them with their long-term goals and aspirations. They ensure that the appropriate training plans are in place and deliver the highest level of quality courses that engage with the learners and help them to reach their potential.

How can you stand out from the crowd?
You will need to demonstrate high ethical standards, take personal accountability for everything you do, and always want to be the best. If you haven’t got experience as a Tutor/Trainer then you should have substantial vocational experience, including some delivery of work-based training and be an expert in your field with an appropriate level 2 vocational qualification. You will need to engage learners from all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, including learners with significant barriers to employment and training. You will need to have high levels of empathy, be adaptable, and understand the needs of prison-based learners.
